Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern the relationship between the user (the “User”) and the operator of the Storello service (the “Service”) available at https://storello.ru, and constitute a public offer within the meaning of Article 437 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. Registration in the Service constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms.
1. General provisions
1.1. The Operator of the Service is Individual Entrepreneur (Sole Proprietor) Zakharov Nikita Yurievich, INN 100130477573, OGRNIP 322100000019548 (the “Operator”).
1.2. Use of the Service is permitted only on the basis of full agreement with these Terms and the Privacy Policy published at https://storello.ru/privacy. If the User does not agree with any provision, they should stop using the Service.
1.3. The Service is provided as an online application and does not require installation on the User’s device. It requires a modern browser supporting HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, and an Internet connection.
2. About the Service
2.1. Storello is software for writing and editing texts: books, articles, notes and other literary works. The Service provides the User with tools for creating, storing, structuring, formatting, collaboratively editing and exporting documents.
2.2. The Service offers optional artificial-intelligence features — an AI writing assistant and an automatically built “project memory” (a short internal summary of the project’s content that helps the assistant respond without repeated explanations). The AI assistant is available on paid plans within the AI credits; project memory is available on “Author” and above. To operate them, fragments of document text are transmitted to an AI provider to the extent needed to produce a response or the summary (see Section 7 of the Privacy Policy). The Operator does not use Content to train artificial- intelligence models (see clause 4.2).
2.3. The Operator reserves the right to make changes to the Service’s functionality, add new capabilities or discontinue support for individual features. The Operator notifies the User of material changes as set out in Section 12 of these Terms.
3. Registration and account
3.1. Creating an account
To access most features of the Service, the User must register by providing an email address and password. The address is confirmed with a code sent by email. A one-time email code and a passkey — created and stored by the User’s own device — are also available as sign-in methods. The User undertakes to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
3.2. Account security
The User is fully responsible for the safekeeping of their credentials (password, sign-in tokens, two-factor authentication codes) and for all actions performed under their account. Sharing account access with third parties is not permitted. In the event of compromise of credentials, the User must immediately change the password and notify the Operator at support@storello.ru.
3.3. Deleting the account
The User may delete their account at any time through “Settings → Delete account”. Deletion is irreversible: all data associated with the account (documents, version history, settings) is deleted in accordance with Section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
4. User rights in content
4.1. All exclusive rights to texts, images and other materials (the “Content”) created or uploaded by the User in the Service belong in full to the User or to other rights holders from whom the User has obtained the right to use them.
4.2. The Operator does not claim any rights in the User’s Content, does not acquire the right to use the Content for its own commercial purposes, does not disclose Content to third parties (except as provided by the Privacy Policy and mandatory legal requirements), and does not use Content to train artificial intelligence systems.
4.3. The User is solely responsible for compliance with the rights of third parties when using the Service, including copyright and related rights, trademark rights, rights in means of individualisation, personal image rights, privacy rights and other rights.
5. Service licence to the Operator
5.1. Solely to the extent necessary for the operation of the Service, the User grants the Operator a simple (non-exclusive) royalty-free licence to use the Content in the following ways:
— storage and backup of the Content on the Operator’s servers and backup systems;
— display of the Content to the User and to other users to whom the User has granted access to the relevant document;
— technical conversion of the Content for the purposes of syncing across devices, exporting to supported formats and enabling collaboration.
5.2. The licence is effective only while the Content resides in the Service and automatically terminates when the relevant document or the User’s account is deleted. No other use of the Content is granted to the Operator.
6. Collaboration
6.1. The Service allows the User to grant other users access to individual documents in view or edit mode. When access is granted, the Content of the document becomes visible to the corresponding collaborators.
6.2. The User who granted access may revoke it at any time through the “Share” panel of the relevant document. Collaborators with edit rights may make changes to the Content; all changes are recorded in the version history.
6.3. The Operator does not act as an intermediary in the relationship between the User and their collaborators and does not resolve disputes between them. All terms of joint use of Content are determined by the User and their collaborators on their own.
7. Acceptable use
7.1. The User undertakes not to use the Service for:
— placement, distribution or other processing of materials contrary to the legislation of the Russian Federation, including extremist material, incitement to violence, defamation, or violation of the privacy of others;
— infringement of copyright, related rights, patent rights and other rights of third parties;
— processing of special categories of personal data of third parties without proper legal grounds;
— attempts to obtain unauthorised access to the Service, its infrastructure or other users’ accounts;
— automated requests (crawling, scraping, load testing) without the prior written consent of the Operator;
— actions intended to disrupt the normal operation of the Service, including by creating excessive load on the infrastructure.
7.2. The Operator reserves the right to remove Content that plainly violates the law upon request of competent state authorities or upon a substantiated complaint from a rights holder, with simultaneous notification to the User by email.
8. Paid features
8.1. The Service is provided on a free plan and paid plans; the plans and prices are listed on the pricing page. Use of paid features is not mandatory.
8.2. Payment, subscription auto-renewal and cancellation are governed by the Offer for paid services (storello.ru/offer), which forms an integral part of these Terms for users of paid plans.
8.3. Refunds are made under Section 6 of the Offer and the Russian Consumer Rights Protection Law.
9. Service availability
9.1. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. The Operator strives to ensure uninterrupted operation of the Service but does not guarantee the absence of technical failures, service interruptions, data loss, or incompatibility with certain versions of browsers or operating systems.
9.2. The Operator may carry out planned and unplanned maintenance during which access to the Service may be limited. The Operator notifies the User in advance of lengthy planned maintenance through the Service’s interface or by email.
9.3. The User is advised to regularly export important documents to local formats (DOCX, PDF, Markdown) and keep copies on their own storage media.
10. Limitation of liability
10.1. The Operator is liable to the User in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation, including the Russian Consumer Rights Protection Law.
10.2. The Operator is not liable for loss of data or interruptions that are not its fault: those caused by force majeure, a fault or the settings of the User’s device, connection failures at the User’s internet provider, actions of co-authors to whom the User personally granted access, or the User’s breach of these Terms.
10.3. If the User uses the Service for business purposes (as a sole proprietor or on behalf of a legal entity), the Operator compensates only actual damage, and its total liability is limited to the amount paid by the User during the 12 (twelve) months before the breach, or 10,000 (ten thousand) roubles if the Service is used free of charge. This limitation does not apply to intentional breach (Article 401(4) of the Russian Civil Code).
10.4. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights of a consumer User that by law cannot be limited by contract (Article 16 of the Consumer Rights Protection Law, Article 400(2) of the Russian Civil Code), nor the rights of a consumer from another country that the law of that country does not allow to be limited.
11. Suspension and termination
11.1. The Operator may suspend or block the User’s access to the Service in the following cases:
— material breach by the User of these Terms, in particular Section 7 “Acceptable use”;
— reasonable suspicion of unauthorised use of the account;
— receipt by the Operator of a lawful order from a competent state authority;
— non-payment for paid features beyond the set deadline (after paid plans are introduced).
11.2. The User is notified of a block at the email address provided at registration, stating the reason. Within 30 (thirty) days of the block, the User has the right to export their documents; after this period the account may be deleted.
12. Changes to these terms
12.1. The Operator reserves the right to amend these Terms. The current edition is always published at https://storello.ru/terms-en.
12.2. The Operator notifies the User of material changes to the Terms by email and/or in the Service’s interface no less than 14 (fourteen) days before the changes take effect.
12.3. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes the User’s consent to the new edition of the Terms. If the User does not agree with the changes, they should stop using the Service and delete their account before the changes take effect.
13. Governing law and disputes
13.1. These Terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. A consumer User in another country keeps the rights that the law of that country does not allow to be limited by contract.
13.2. The parties first try to settle a dispute by negotiation: write to support@storello.ru; the Operator replies to a claim within 30 (thirty) days. If no agreement is reached, the dispute is heard by the court at the Operator’s location; a consumer User may instead go to the court at their place of residence or where the contract was concluded (Article 17 of the Russian Consumer Rights Protection Law).
